Almost all the lines listed here originated either in New England or Pennsylvania. Our only southern connection is the Koons family which lived briefly in S. Carolina before migrating to Ohio and then points west.
My many thanks to all the kin who so generously helped provide information on these lines. My research was given an enormous boost from their kind efforts. Some of those folks I met the old- fashioned way. They are near and dear relatives. My enthusiastic Aunt Sadie collected the information on our Hess family. She faithfully wrote to numerous cousins over a number ofyears of collect the data I now display here. And Aunt Elsie doggedly trooped through cemeteries near and far. My cousin Janet and sisters JoAnn and Roberta have contributed their substantial research. Also not to be forgetten are some very kind and helpful kinfolk I encountered through the amazing resourcesof the Web. I thank them all.
One caution: the information here has been transcribed from other sources. Much of that data has been transcribed again from other sources. Error rates rise with each transcription.
Additionally, some of this data was collected from other websites or traditionally published genealogies. I try to evaluate their sources based on some undefinable internal scale of mine and only include those I feel are probably correct. In time I hope to verify what I can, but the cost of collecting birth certificates, wills, land records, etc. makes confirming all of them impossible. As I work through those verifications, some of the data here may change.
So this site cannot truly offer proof of ancestry but, perhaps, can lead you to it. If you have any questions, additions, or corrections, please don't hesitate to contact me through the link at the top of the page. And happy hunting!
